WIISE Members Event: A Guided Tour Through The History Of Finnish Migration – Saturday, 14th June 2025, 12:00-13:30

Guided Tour followed by Coffee

WIISE members, join us for an English-language guided tour through the past. Did you know that there is a rich history of emigration FROM Finland? The Finnish Migration Museum explores the movement of people around the world by researching, studying, documenting and displaying information about migration, immigration and emigration.

The main attraction is the museum’s open-air exhibition area with, currently, four buildings, all from different countries, Finland, Canada, Australia and Russian Siberia. These buildings have been moved to Peräseinäjoki and rebuilt in their original condition. They are all furnished and can be visited & explored inside.

WIISE’s friends at the Migration Museum have offered a tour for up to 20 people, during which they will tell the stories of the previous owners and residents of these buildings. After the tour, they have offered refreshments in the coffee shop in the Hakala House.

The tour and coffee is offered free of charge to WIISE. There is a limit to the tour group of 20 people, so this event is only open to WIISE members.
