Just before everybody heads away to their summer cottages for midsummer, we thought we could start the weekend festivities with a picnic. Of course, being Finland, we cannot completely trust Mother Nature to provide the right weather, so we have taken precautions and hired a small mökki and grill next to Kyrkösjärvi beach – Luontotalo Käpälikkö on Facebook.
Remember there are no strangers, simply friends you haven’t met yet! Come along to make new contacts or meet old friends.
Midsummer, makkara & mölkky
To make this a truly Finnish midsummer picnic, E-P WIISE will light the grill, will provide makkara to cook on it and will bring a few sets of the garden game mölkky* to play. Nearby, there is also a frisbee golf course, a beach for swimming and Seinäjoki hospital (hopefully, you won’t need all 3 of these!)
